The new Facebook chat bar is a good development from Facebook but it can be annoying at times.
Personally, I feel that it should have the option for collapsing it. I'm sure there are many other Facebook users out there who also feel the same way.

However, I will not fail to say that this new feature from Facebook has its benefits and the main benefit is that you can see your friends updates in real time.

In order to get rid of the chat side bar all you need do is install an addon to your browser. The addon is available for Chrome, Firefox and Opera
